Arson of bridge possibly targets Unist’ot’en camp

The Unist’ot’en Camp experienced more harassment yesterday [Friday Nov 1], as an unknown person burned a bridge on a nearby Forest Service road
According to an update on the Unist’ot’en Facebook page:
“An Unist’ot’en Elder had just reported to us that a bridge on an adjoining Forest Service Road was just burned. The road parallels the road leading to the camp and was accessible across country only 4 km from the camp location. Who did this and why they would do it is unknown. It may be the same perpetrators who came and harassed us last week. Or, it could be something else happening for a larger plan in this immediate area. Again, we are on high alert.”
This comes only days after unknown people tried to blow up up the Unist’ot’en sign with a home-made explosive.
There are reports of a group of possible vigilantes from the Houston area who may be responsible. A hunter also claimed to have heard a group of men talking about the camp in a threatening way (saying they were going to ‘do something about it’).
The Unist’ot’en Facebook page commented: ”We are still able to get in and out through our regular road. But these signs are becoming ominously clear. Some people are targeting the area of the camp.”

With an elected immigrant fool like Liberal Premier Clark pushing for ongoing development of pipelines, mines and oil, natural gas and liqufied petroleum products infrastructure in the North and Northwest, more acts of intimidation, harassment will occur along with the regular ongoingsystemic racism
