When Alex McDonald arrived at the Comeauville wharf in Digby County, N.S., on Monday afternoon to find his lobster boat missing, he said he was “stunned.”

The part of the wharf where McDonald’s boat — named Buck and Doe — had been moored was scorched and the seven thick ropes that kept it there burned off. Read the rest of this entry

Torching of RCMP SUV in Innu community draws local online praise

A 29 year-old man was arrested in the Labrador Innu First Nation of Natuashish following the torching of an RCMP vehicle Tuesday evening that was praised on social media.

Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP did not immediately release the arrested man’s name. RCMP Cpl. Trevor O’Keefe said the man was in custody, but had not been officially charged. Read the rest of this entry

Incendiary devices were used against the installations of the Hydroelectric Center of Angostura de Colbún [Sunday Nov. 15, 2015] during the night. Chile: Two Arson Attacks on Logging Trucks in the Province of Arauco, Wallmapu

Two arson attacks were carried out early Thursday morning at various points in the Araucania Region.

The first took place in at the Mariposas Estate, located on Highway CH181that connects the townships of Curacautín with Victoria, in the Province of Malleco.

According to police reports, the unknown suspects entered the area and lit fire to a shed that contained logging equipment.

Guards confronted the suspects, which gave way to shots being fired, although police assert there were no injuries reported. Read the rest of this entry

This has unleashed the hysterical reaction of the Chilean government and the police apparatus in the area, as well as the rage of the corporate elite have begun to criticize their own government for the failure of repressive policies against the Mapuche movement.
