Native protesters shut down access to part of Brantford development

BRANTFORD, ONT. – Four First Nations protesters shut down access to part of a new development in this southern Ontario city Friday.
Mohawks Floyd and Ruby Montour, along with Wes Elliott and Sakoieta Widrick sat on the cement blocks at that location, with two vehicles blocking access to the site.
“We shut down that,” Ruby Montour said, gesturing to a piece of earth-moving equipment behind her. “We’ve shut down this site and they won’t do anything until they’ve spoken to us.” Read the rest of this entry
