Enbridge backtracks on decision to seize assets from environmental group

Staff at the Vancouver office of an environmental group got an unexpected visit on Tuesday from sheriffs who were holding court documents authorizing them to seize the organization’s assets on behalf of Enbridge.
Karen Mahon with Stand.earth, formerly known as Forest Ethics, said the documents authorized the sheriffs to take and sell all of their assets to recover money owed to the pipeline giant. Read the rest of this entry

Federal government monitoring protests in Hamilton
New documents show government watching protests on Enbridge pipeline reversal

The federal government has been monitoring public protests and demonstrations in Hamilton since 2007, including several Enbridge related events, according to new documents released this week.

Six Nations protesters stop Enbridge Line 9 dig in North Dumfries
Protesters from Six Nations stopped work at a dig on a portion of the Line 9 pipeline in North Dumfries Thursday morning.
According to a statement from protesters, a group marched onto a work site east of Highway 24 near the Grand River between Cambridge and Brantford around 10 a.m. Thursday. Enbridge pipeline road blocked by protesters in Burlington
Enbridge says protesters interfering with ‘important safety maintenance’ of Line 9

A group of protesters has blockaded the road to an exposed section of Enbridge’s Line 9 pipeline early this morning in Burlington, Ont.
The protesters say they plan to continue the blockade for at least 12 hours.
