The colonial state strikes again. State repression against and the targeting of Mi’kmaq Warriors has escalated. The state is now denying 2 Mi’kmaq Warriors, Aaron Francis and Germain Jr Breau, access to spiritual practices. Government officials are clearly shook over the recent article published by Vancouver’s Georgia Straight concerning potential sabotage against the Enbridge pipeline.   That article, reposted on Warrior Publications, was entitled “Activists plot how to block new pipelines in BC.”   Although there have been many calls made for civil disobedience, this is one of the first major public discussions about the potential for sabotage actions against pipeline construction.  Read the rest of this entry

A third person has been arrested in connection with a confrontation with media at an anti-shale gas protest near Rexton last fall, say RCMP.

A 34-year-old woman from Elsipogtog First Nation was arrested on Wednesday and released on conditions, Staff Sgt. Jeff Johnston stated in a release. Read the rest of this entry

A man from the Elsipogtog First Nation has been charged after a confrontation last fall at the site of fracking protests on Highway 134 near Rexton.

SWN Resources Canada plans to drill two exploratory wells in New Brunswick, according to the company’s website.
