More than 50 people from the small village of Mud Lake in Labrador were airlifted from their community early Wednesday morning after severe flooding.

Charges announced by RCMP on Tuesday

Twenty-eight people have been charged in connection with last year’s protests at the Muskrat Falls site, the RCMP announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Nalcor cancels day shift, says workers being financially affected by protest

A protest at Muskrat Falls that started Saturday is continuing with no signs of slowing down.

Protesters accused of breaking a court order by refusing to leave Nalcor Energy property outside the Muskrat Falls work site have been released on bail.
The six Innu protesters were arrested over the weekend at the entrance to the Labrador megaproject.

A new study says a hydroelectric dam currently in the works in Newfoundland and Labrador could expose more than 200 Inuit people to excessive levels of methylmercury, the most toxic form of mercury.
The report was commissioned by the Nunatsiavut Government, which governs an autonomous Inuit area in the province, to look at the downstream impacts of Nalcor Energy’s 824 megawatt, Muskrat Falls’ hydroelectric dam on the lower Churchill River in Labrador.
